New Small ART for BIG Gifts
Forever Peaceful 6″x 6″ acrylic mixed media $38 SOLD others available here
You walk into your home or office, look around, what do you see? I would be confident in saying you have images, even art work, that bring you some sort of joy and happiness. Imagine our world with out art? Blank, plain walls, rooms, even our phones where we scroll hundreds of images a day… until I really pictured this scenario, I didn’t realize how our world is beautified by art. The statements it can make. It makes it truly a better place.
So how about giving a gift of art this season. Yes, its personal. That’s why it is perfect as a gift. You have to put some thought into the receiver but when you give it…the gift receiver of this unique beautiful and well thought out gift will know how much you care about them.
I did some research and gathered tips that will help you find that perfect piece.
No particular order…
- Think about the colors and décor they like. You don’t want to get classic style art for someone who has a modern taste. If you have never been to their home or office, take note of the colors and clothing style. What do they drink their coffee out of?( I know I have a few favorite mugs that tell about me.) All usually a good indication of their taste.
- Keeping in mind the above, pick artwork that nobody else has. Local artists and galleries are a superb source for original art and unique prints. We all know some of the classics out there…and your art gift recipient will be impressed you took the time to think this gift through. Finding that special artwork that speaks to them.
- Find a subject matter that the are into. Start with making a list of things the person you are giving the art to likes such as their hobbies and life style. With this start you will be well on your way with a direction.
- Still unsure…selecting small art can be a sure way they will be able to fit it in. Or several small works of art to create a grouping or accompany it with and easel, a candle perhaps that will look good to display together in any variety of locations.
And finally, include a note with your gift. You could explain about the art, what prompted you to select the piece for them. Art after alt is even better when you include the story behind it.
I hope this will spur you on to give art this season when looking for something special for a favorite friend or that colleague.
